If you’re missing one or more teeth, we know how physically and emotionally debilitating it can be. You might think it’s hopeless, but missing or damaged teeth are never hopeless at Highland Dental Clinic in Winter Haven, Crystal Lake, and other nearby Polk County Communities. We have options like dental implants, crowns, bridges, or dentures and partials.

We Can Fix Your Missing Teeth

Just make an appointment now if you’re missing teeth due to trauma or disease. Dr. Fernandez will take images and examine your teeth and jaws in detail. She will then create a treatment plan and make sure you understand exactly what is involved in each option. In a short period of time, you’ll have replacements for your missing teeth that look, feel, and function like the real thing.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Dental Implant?

Dr. Fernandez will first determine if your jawbone is strong enough to hold dental implants. Implants are the nearest thing to natural teeth that modern dentistry can give you! First, Dr. Fernandez will place a titanium implant that fuses into your jawbone and acts like a tooth root. This is a minor surgical procedure, and you’ll need to let the implant site heal before moving to the next steps. This may take several weeks.

Once you’ve healed, Dr. Fernandez will place a porcelain crown on top of the implant that has been crafted and color-matched to look like your real teeth. Implants are permanent and you can eat whatever you want. You clean them by brushing and flossing normally. If anything should happen to the crown, Dr. Fernandez can repair or replace it.

What Are My Treatment Options?

Another option is a porcelain crown (cap), or a bridge. A crown can be placed on a tooth that is still intact, such as after a root canal. We’ll try to retain your natural teeth if we possibly can; nature has given us the best option for dental health and we do everything we can to preserve it. Another option, if the tooth is missing completely, is a dental bridge. A bridge is an artificial tooth held in place by crowns on either side. Dr. Fernandez will show you the proper techniques for cleaning your bridge.

You probably know what dentures are, but not be aware of the improvements that have been made in the way they can fit and function. Dr. Fernandez can fit you with a denture or partial that will fit snugly and help give your jawbone the stimulation it needs to stay strong and healthy.

If you are missing teeth right now, don’t hesitate another a day! Letting a missing tooth go can cause your teeth to shift and lead to premature sagging and wrinkling. You won’t believe how easily Dr. Fernandez can make your smile whole and attractive again. Make an appointment on our website or call 863-400-1244.
