Technically, we can use single implants to replace every lost tooth in your mouth, but that wouldn’t be very practical. Nor is it necessary. Single implants are generally reserved for replacing one or two missing teeth in different parts of your mouth. After evaluating your condition, Dr. Fernandez can create a treatment plan that provides the best solution to restoring your smile. Implant treatment isn’t one size fits all. We tailor our treatment plans to meet our patient’s unique dental needs.
If you’re unfamiliar with implants, explain how they work first. Implants are ceramic or titanium screws used to repair missing dental roots. After oral surgery, these screws are inserted into your jawbone and given time to fuse with the surrounding bone tissue. This procedure can take several months to finish. However, the osseointegration process is essential to stabilize the implants so they can support your new teeth. Once done, Dr. Fernandez and our team will attach connectors (abutments) and your replacement teeth to restore your smile to its original state.
At Highland Dental Clinic, we offer the following implant options for replacing lost teeth:
All on 4 or all six implant treatments: An entire arch of upper or lower teeth can be replaced with an implant denture supported by four or six implants placed strategically in your jaw. Dr. Fernandez will determine the number of implants based on the density of your jaw. If you have good jaw health, four implants will suffice to keep your new teeth securely in place when you bite and chew. Implant dentures will give you a functional, attractive, healthy smile that you can enjoy for many years.
